The music appreciation objectives of the Music Memory Program are to expose students to great composers, their lives and music, and to encourage an in-depth study of our Western musical heritage.
The listening selections of our Music Memory Program were chosen to provide varied musical learning experiences for your child. Selections for orchestra, choir, keyboard, and jazz band are included to provide excellent examples of classical and American music from all periods of musical history.
The Music Memory program is a year round experience that climaxes in the Spring with a district wide Music Memory Competition to test each student's knowledge and understanding of the music and composer's presented.
If you have questions about our Music Memory Program or would like to order a Music Memory Selection CD please feel free to contact Mr. VandeWalle.

Ms. Greenhaw, music teacher at Doss Elementary School, has created a website that hosts sounds clips of the music memory songs. Students can go to this site to hear the songs for this year’s contest. This site contains the answer to what seems to be the most popular Music Memory question…”How did this composer die?” |
