This page is dedicated to our choir program.  Anything that involves the Koala Choir can be found here.

Students who are involved in the Koala Choir Program are expected to uphold many standards that cover grades, homework and behavior.  As a visible organization and representative of the school, as well as the school district, these standards are a requirements that are placed upon

each member.

Grades/Homework

Every student that is involved in the choir is expected to maintain an acceptable grade in all of their subjects.  They are also required to show responsibility when it comes to their homework.  I will perform periodic check-ups with each teacher to make sure that grades are passing and homework is being turned in.  Lets not forget that while music is extremely important, we can not neglect the other subjects.

Behavior

Of course any child that is in the choir must show their best behavior at all times.  Members of the choir are expected to display the behavior of a model student.  The choir is a very focal part of the school and those involved are expected to set a good example.  Behavior issues will be handled by removal from choir.  Some of these problems may include office referrals, trips to ACES, suspension or any problems brought to my attention by the  administration, students classroom teacher or special area teachers.  Behavior inside and outside of rehearsals is a must.

Rehearsal Etiquette is a must.  Choir can be fun and exciting, if we work together.  Excessive talking and/or not following directions cause a disturbance in the rehearsal.  Any student who receives three offenses of disrupting a rehearsal will be removed from choir.

Attendance

Each child is expected to be in attendance and on time.  Rehearsals are where we get our preparation and practice done,  and it is virtually impossible for anyone to make up lost rehearsal time.  I understand that there are times when a student must be absent for emergencies or other circumstances that cannot be avoided.  On the whole, we need to keep the unexcused absences to a minimum.  Chronic attendance problems will result in removal from the choir.
